What EF0 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF0 is light damage: shingles and siding peeled, gutters torn, branches broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 65–85 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

Several visuals from storm spotters indicated that funnel clouds and perhaps brief touchdowns occurred before this tornado from the same supercell as it crossed western Deaf Smith County. However, this tornado did overturn a couple of pivots south of

County Road 27 and east of Highway 214. This appears to have been the only damage noted from this tornado so the exact length of the track is unknown due to the lack of damage indicators. The estimated wind speed from this tornado was 85mph.

The wider storm

During the early to late evening hours on the 4th of June severe thunderstorms moved through the southwest to south central Texas Panhandle. The main supercell that moved in first from eastern New Mexico, quickly intensified in Deaf Smith County, where it briefly produced a weak tornado that overturned a couple of irrigation pivots. The storm then continued to produce ping pong ball to even an instance of baseball size hail as it moved into Randall County.
