A surface low was situated over central Kansas, with a quasi-stationary frontal boundary draped across northwest Missouri down through the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles. Destabilization occurred during the early afternoon on August 11, 2025, with showers and thunderstorms developing along an outflow boundary pushing east northeast through southeast Kansas into southwest Missouri. Although most of this activity remained sub-severe, an isolated severe thunderstorm brought damaging winds to Cherokee County, with reports of trees and tree limbs down southeast of Lawton near the Cherokee/Jasper county line.
