During the early morning of June 22nd, a long lasting mesoscale convective system (MCS) tracked southeast out of Canada, crossing the eastern end of Lake Ontario, the St. Lawrence River and into the north central New York area. The MCS contained strong to severe thunderstorms within the system that caused wind damage across much of the area from the eastern end of Lake Ontario and near the St. Lawrence River to areas east and southeast of Lake Ontario.
