Wider weather episode

A nearly stationary front draped from the Mid-Atlantic to the Southern Plains acted as a focal point for convective initiation during the afternoon of June 8. Mid-level waves along the boundary produced several rounds of thunderstorms. Damaging winds from severe thunderstorms in the Southside created multiple swaths of tree damage, as well as causing damage to a church building.
