A couple of trees were blown down by thunderstorm winds along Hardy Road.

A warm, humid, and unstable airmass was in position over much of the Mid-Atlantic and southeastern United States. A shortwave trough moving through the area brought about more organized convection, especially in the Appalachian foothills and Piedmont of North Carolina. Severe thunderstorms caused tree damage in a couple North Carolina counties.
