Event narrative
High and choppy surf caused a fifteen foot long boat to capsize off the Kapolei coast. As a result, a sixty six year old man fell overboard and went into cardiac arrest. He was transported by emergency medical services to the emergency room and later pronounced dead. There were two other people on board the vessel at the time of capsizing.

A large long period south swell brought large surf and dangerous conditions to south facing shores of each island.
