D3 (extreme) drought conditions at the beginning of the month saw significant improvement, with conditions improving to D1 (moderate) drought by the end of the month. The wider storm

Severe (D2) to extreme (D3) drought conditions persisted across portions of eastern Nebraska through the month of June. However, significant rainfall, with amounts ranging from 2 to locally 8 inches above average, fell in parts of northeast Nebraska that were previously experiencing extreme drought. This precipitation led to a substantial improvement, with the entire extreme drought area upgrading to moderate (D1) drought by July 1st. Despite this improvement, small pockets of severe drought (D2) still lingered in Knox, Butler, and Seward counties.
