2025-06-20 to 2025-06-24 · Morris, Texas

Wider weather episode

A strong upper-level high pressure ridge expanded and intensified across the South Central and Southeast portions of the U.S. late in the month of June and persisted for several days. Increasing southerly flow in response to the eastward advancing high pressure ridge allowed rich Gulf moisture and elevated humidity levels to combine with daily high temperatures in the lower to middle 90s across all of East and Northeast Texas, resulting in peak heat index values between 105-109 degrees each day from June 20th through June 24th.
