A pre-frontal trough tracking across the Buffalo forecast area during the late morning and early afternoon of June 28th caused thunderstorms to develop in some areas. Thunderstorms that developed over Lake Ontario during the late morning hours became better organized and became strong to severe over the far eastern end of Lake Ontario, further strengthening over north central New York during the early afternoon.
