Mifflin County Airport (KRVL) reported multiple hours of heat index values between 100 and 105 degrees during the afternoon and early evening hours.

An expansive upper-level ridge allowed for increasing heat to begin during the afternoon hours of July 28, 2025 with maximum heat and humidity beginning to take hold over central Pennsylvania during the afternoon and evening hours of July 29th and July 30th. High temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90s across the Lower Susquehanna Valley, with dew points in the mid-70s allowed for heat index values to approach 105 degrees across portions of Dauphin County, with much of the Lower Susquehanna Valley topping out with heat index values between 100 degrees and 105 degrees.
