The West Texas Mesonet station 1 NNW Crane measured a 64 mph wind gust.
Wider weather episode
Upslope flow, differential heating, and vorticity maxima in the weak flow aloft led to the development of a few thunderstorms in West Texas. These storms generally began in the higher terrain and eventually moved into the Permian Basin before dissipating. One thunderstorm managed to produce a 64 mph wind gust near Crane.
