Heat — Camp, Texas

2025-07-27 to 2025-07-31 · Camp, Texas

Wider weather episode

An upper level ridge of high pressure over the Southeast United States began to retrograde west across the Lower Mississippi Valley into the Four State Region during the final several days of July, resulting in the return of much hotter temperatures as they climbed back into the mid 90s to near 100 degrees. While dewpoints were able to mix out to some extent, resultant heat indices still ranged from 105 to 110 degrees from the 27th through the 31st across much of East Texas before showers and thunderstorms that developed during the afternoon of the 31st significantly cooled temperatures late in the day.
