Event narrative

Eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 were closed near mile marker 338 due to several trees down, one of which fell on a car. No injuries were reported.

Wider weather episode

Diurnally driven thunderstorms developed during the afternoon and continued into the evening and into the early morning hours of the 19th of July. Two separate areas of thunderstorms developed: one across the north moving to the east-southeast, while a second area across the north moved north-northeast. There were multiple wind damage reports, but no flooding occurred.
