Wind gust was recorded on a WeatherFlow Weather Station in the Neuse River as thunderstorms were moving through the area.

Wider weather episode

Scattered showers and thunderstorms developed along a prefrontal trough across the Coastal Plain of Eastern North Carolina during the morning of August fourteenth. Showers and thunderstorms then tracked east, merging into linear segments during the afternoon. A few isolated thunderstorms became strong to severe in nature. This brought strong and damaging wind gusts to the inland sounds and rivers across Eastern North Carolina.
