An east-northeast wind gust of 35 knots was measured at the Naval Air Station Key West Boca Chica Field.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms developed as high moisture content air in the lower to mid troposphere pushed westward over the Florida Keys on the western flank of an approaching upper level low pressure system over eastern Cuba. Isolated gale-force wind gusts and a waterspout occurred in association with the thunderstorms as they moved westward along the Lower Keys coastal waters.
