Water entered the first floor of Mercedita Airport in Ponce. Radar estimates indicate approximately 1 to 4 inches of rainfall in the area.

The wider storm

A tropical wave, alongside diurnal heating and local effects, promoted showers and thunderstorms over south-central to southwestern Puerto Rico. Ponce, in particular, was heavily affected as Flash Flooding was reported. Between 2 and 4 inches, locally higher, fell during the afternoon to around 6 PM.
