Event narrative
Multiple roads were closed in Lincoln County due to heavy rainfall. These include Highway A outside of Hawk Point, Highway P in Elsberry, Highway B at Bryant's Creek Road, Highway C in multiple locations near Moscow Mills, Highway H near the Cuivre River due to water exceeding the river's banks, and numerous other unnamed roads. On Highway 61 near Davis, vehicles were stopped due to water on the road at multiple locations, including its intersections with County Roads K,V,B, and E.
Wider weather episode
During the late evening and early morning hours of July 20th/21st, an MCS moved southeast through east-central Missouri. The front edge of the system produced very efficient and heavy rainfall, causing flash flood conditions quickly. This was exacerbated in portions of eastern Audrain County which received multiple rounds of this heavy rain.
