Event narrative

Heavy rain caused numerous roads to become impassable in Audrain County. These include Highway 54 in Farber, two unnamed roads north of Laddonia, many roads in Laddonia proper, Highway BB just west of Highway W near Middletown, and Highway J at Highway B north of Rush Hill. A water rescue was completed on Highway 54 between Farber and Bassinger Corner. Another vehicle was stuck in water in front of the POET Biorefinery. A third vehicle was stuck in water on Highway 19 in Martinsburg.

Wider weather episode

During the late evening and early morning hours of July 20th/21st, an MCS moved southeast through east-central Missouri. The front edge of the system produced very efficient and heavy rainfall, causing flash flood conditions quickly. This was exacerbated in portions of eastern Audrain County which received multiple rounds of this heavy rain.
