Cape Henlopen mesonet had several hours of tropical storm force gusts, with a peak sustained wind of 33 kt and peak gust of 40 kt.

Hurricane Erin passed about 450 miles south and east of the New Jersey and Delaware coast. The storm had an expansive wind field, and produced tropical storm force gusts for several hours late on August 20th and into August 21st across the coastal waters of New Jersey and Delaware.
