Event narrative

The public reported four trees and one powerline knocked down. They also reported power went out for the entire town of Murfreesboro.

Wider weather episode

An upper trough approached the Mid-Atlantic region from the west on June 19th. Strong solar heating and rich low level moisture combined for robust instability across the area. Moderate wind shear ahead of the upper trough resulted in sufficient shear for thunderstorm organization. A line of storms crossed into northeast North Carolina in the evening, producing scattered instances of wind damage.
