Event narrative

Emergency manager reported trees blown down near the intersection of Hankins Rd and Yancey Rd. Another tree was blown down on a vehicle just east of Marion.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms and storm clusters developed over the North Carolina Blue Ridge during the early afternoon and steadily progressed east through the afternoon into the early evening. Isolated storms became severe and produced hail and brief damaging wind gusts.
