Event narrative

Multiple sources reported a number of trees and large limbs and power lines blown down across Greenville County, from Tigerville, south through Travelers Rest and much of the Greenville metro area, to Simpsonville and Fountain Inn. Hundreds of power outages were reported, especially in the Greenville area.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms and storm clusters developed near the Blue Ridge during the afternoon and moved steadily southeast across the Upstate during the afternoon into the evening. Isolated severe storms produced locally damaging wind gusts and large hail.
