Public reported trees blown down near the intersection of John Dodd Rd and New Cut Rd and multiple trees and lines down on the west side of Spartanburg. Utility company reported hundreds of power outages in the city of Spartanburg.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms and storm clusters developed near the Blue Ridge during the afternoon and moved steadily southeast across the Upstate during the afternoon into the evening. Isolated severe storms produced locally damaging wind gusts and large hail.
