The Grassy Mountain RAWS site recorded a wind gust of 58 mph. No damage was reported.

Wider weather episode

On July 3rd and 4th, southwest flow aloft was dominant across eastern Oregon. This flow aloft advected mid-level in moisture across eastern Oregon. A shortwave and wind speed maximum ejecting through the southwesterly flow increased the available shear and instability for thunderstorms.
