Event narrative

A few trees were blown down by thunderstorms winds near a stretch of road along Old North Carolina Highway 87. One tree fell onto a power line on Glovenia Street.

An abundance of low level convergence in a very moist environment was supported by an upper level trough, causing the formation of severe thunderstorms in the Piedmont Region of northern North Carolina.
