Most of Metro Palm Beach County began the month of June in a severe (D2) to extreme (D3) drought which lingered until rainfall activity early in the month allowed slight improvement to moderate (D1) to severe (D2) drought. A lack of rainfall later in the month allowed the drought to again reach severe (D2) to extreme (D3) over a large portion of the area.

Wider weather episode

Prolonged periods of dry weather across much of South Florida during the winter and spring months led to the drought conditions entering June with rainfall during the month allowing conditions to slowly improve.
