Several trees were blown down by thunderstorm winds along West Virginia Highway 20 north of Pipestem.
Wider weather episode
A northward retreating zone of high pressure weakened the subsidence near southeastern West Virginia. Above normal surface instability in this more convection friendly environment led to outflow driven thunderstorms which caused localized damage in Summers County.
