Inland Collier County began the month of June in an extreme (D3) drought which lingered until rainfall activity allowed improvement to moderate (D1) drought except for a small area of severe (D2) drought along the eastern portion of the county.

Wider weather episode

Prolonged periods of dry weather across much of South Florida during the winter and spring months led to the continuing and intensification of drought conditions through the end of June.
