Event narrative

Two outbuildings were destroyed by thunderstorm winds along Old Shannon Gap Road. One shed was lifted off of its foundation by the thunderstorm winds and moved at least 30 feet.

A stalled front was situated over southwest Virginia on the afternoon of June 28. Diurnal heating destabilized the atmosphere, leading to severe thunderstorms in the afternoon focusing around the frontal boundary.
