The Weatherflow sensor at Fort Sumter Range Front Light measured wind gusts of at least 34 knots between 950 AM and 10 AM with a peak wind gust of 41 knots at 950 AM.

The wider storm

A mid-upper level disturbance traversing the Southeast in advance of a longwave trough encountered a moderately unstable environment, leading to severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts across coastal waters.
