The Weatherflow sensor at Fort Sumter Range Front Light measured wind gusts of at least 34 knots between 8 PM and 825 PM with a peak wind gust of 45 knots at 810 PM.

Showers and thunderstorms congealing north-northwest of the region eventually tracked south into the local area, encountering a highly unstable airmass displaying large downdraft CAPE and strong mid-level lapse rates, leading to severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts across coastal waters.
