Event narrative
Trees were snapped along Sawmill Road on the northeast side of Hayward Lake. At least one of the trees was larger than two feet in diameter per photos. One of the trees fell onto a home causing damage.
Wider weather episode
A weak frontal boundary dropped across the Northland the 2nd into the 3rd. A few thunderstorms formed ahead of the front during the afternoon hours of the 2nd, but were mainly non-severe with limited instability in place. A few storms were a bit stronger and produced isolated wind damage in parts of Sawyer and Washburn counties.
