An emergency manager reported a roof lifted off a barn. The barn's walls also collapsed.

Wider weather episode

An upper-level trough and cold front progressed from the Great Lakes region into the Mid-Atlantic on July 1. Numerous thunderstorms, some of which produced swaths of damaging winds, developed ahead of the cold front in the late afternoon and evening hours across portions of central Virginia.
