Event narrative

Photos were received of maple, oak, ash, and aspen trees that were down due to strong thunderstorm winds. Trees were snapped off or tipped. A large super canopy white pine had snapped off. It may have been more than a couple dozen trees that came down though it was difficult to tell since most trees were in the woods. There was also one tree that blocked Beaverbrook Avenue.

Wider weather episode

A stationary boundary was draped across western Wisconsin during the day on the 15th. This led to multiple rounds of storms across northwestern Wisconsin during the morning and afternoon hours. Some of the storms contained damaging winds that led to tree damage across parts of Washburn, Sawyer, Ashland, and Bayfield counties.
