Event narrative

The Virginia Statewide Incidents page posted that a water rescue occurred on the 1900 block of Bainbridge Street. Fire crews were reported to be on scene with two boats deployed and crews rescuing one adult and two juveniles from a vehicle submerged in water up to the wheel wells. No injuries were reported at the time of the report.

Wider weather episode

Scattered showers and storms developed across central and eastern Virginia on July 12 given an unstable air mass in place. These storms were slow-moving and produced heavy rain and flooding.
