What the National Weather Service wrote

Heavy rainfall from thunderstorms resulted in Dry Creek Road to County Road 84 near the Rio Pojoaque to become impassable due to water over the roadways. Additionally, the intersection at the end of NM 502 and Cities of Gold Road in Pojoaque became impassible due to 4 feet of water over the roadways.

The wider storm

A surge in monsoon moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Lorena in the eastern Pacific combined with disturbances embedded in the northwest flow aloft resulting in a higher coverage of showers and thunderstorms across northern and central NM. Thunderstorms during the evening hours on September 5th resulted in flash flooding across the Pojoaque Pueblo between Santa Fe and Espanola.

Began near San Ildefonso Pueblo (35.8910, -106.0760).
