Event narrative

Occurred on north edge of McCook as a shower was dissipating. Also stated the temperatures were very hot when the winds occurred. There is some evidence of heat burst as the temperatures at the McCook Airport ASOS (KMCK) at the same time rose from 66 to 74 degrees; winds however did not pick up significantly at the ASOS site.

Wider weather episode

A shower developed and collapsed on the northern portion of McCook during the morning hours on the 8th where an estimated 65 mph wind gust occurred.
