The West Texas Mesonet station 166 Marathon 21N measured two 58 mph wind gusts.

Similar to August 29th, a dissipating stationary boundary served as a focus for shower and thunderstorm development. Upslope flow also contributed to additional thunderstorm development in the higher terrain of West Texas. One storm managed to produce a severe wind gust near Marathon.
