A lightning strike hit a home on Kamin Road in Hixson, leading to a two-alarm fire destroying a large portion of the home.

A weak cold front coupled with a highly saturated atmosphere led to numerous thunderstorms across the area. One storm became severe, producing severe wind damage and a house fire sparked by lightning.
