A 58 mph wind gust was observed on the West Mesa of Albuquerque along the leading edge of a line of thunderstorms.

Wider weather episode

An upper level low moved over the Intermountain West on September 12th. This along with an upper level high over Texas allowed monsoon moisture to stream north into western and central New Mexico during these days resulting in numerous to widespread showers and thunderstorms. Strong winds at the leading edge of a line of thunderstorms moving into the Albuquerque Metro resulted in a 58 mph wind gust on the West Mesa of Albuquerque.
