Several downed trees across town in Naugatuck.

A weak cold front worked through southern New England towards the area. Ahead of the boundary a moist and moderately unstable airmass was set up. Given cold temperatures aloft and steep low level lapse rates, one storm was able to become severe and produce a cluster of damaging wind gusts in southern CT.
