A funnel cloud was spotted off of Cassell Road as a rotating thunderstorm passed through the area. No indications of a touchdown or damage.

Wider weather episode

A cold front pushing through the Mid-South in an environment of 30 knots of effective shear and plenty of CAPE fueled several severe thunderstorms that tracked across portions of East Tennessee, producing several instances of severe wind damage and severe hail.
