The National Gridded Snowfall Analysis indicated storm totals of 7 to 15 inches at elevations above 4500 feet. Precipitation amounts in the zone included 2.03 inches at Sawyers Bar, 3.70 inches at Somes Bar, and 4.34 inches at Happy Camp.

Wider weather episode

A frontal system moved into southern Oregon and northern California on 3/15 then became nearly stationary, oriented from northeast to southwest across the area, from 3/16 into 3/17. Additional snow showers behind the main system lingered into 3/18. The heaviest snow occurred during 3/16.
