The National Gridded Snowfall Analysis indicated storm totals of 18 to 54 inches at elevations above 4500 feet. A snowfall total of 48.7 inches was measured at Crater Lake. Precipitation amounts measured included: 4.40 inches at Diamond Lake, 3.40 inches at Summit Lake, 4.10 inches at New Crescent Lake, and 2.70 inches at Annie Springs.
Wider weather episode
A frontal system moved into southern Oregon and northern California on 3/15 then became nearly stationary, oriented from northeast to southwest across the area, from 3/16 into 3/17. Additional snow showers behind the main system lingered into 3/18. The heaviest snow occurred during 3/16.
