Severe (D2) drought conditions across far southeastern portions of Thomas County, improved to moderate (D1) drought conditions by the end of July.

Wider weather episode

Normal to above normal rainfall, coupled with average temperatures, led to improvements in drought conditions across most of western and north central Nebraska in July. Drought conditions remained unchanged across the eastern Nebraska Panhandle, as well as portions of Hayes and Frontier Counties.
