Heat — Bienville, Louisiana
2025-08-01 · Bienville, Louisiana
Wider weather episode
A weak cool front began to sink south into Northeast Texas and Southwest Arkansas during the day on August 1st, ahead of an upper level trough of low pressure that shifted southeast through the region. Compressional warming ahead of the front resulted in temperatures climbing into the mid and upper 90s across North Louisiana and Lower East Texas along and south of Interstate 20. Low level moisture pooling along the frontal zone did not allow for much mixing of the dewpoints during the afternoon, which when combined with these temperatures, resulted in heat indices ranging from 105-110 degrees.
