2025-08-14 to 2025-08-19 · Union, Louisiana

Wider weather episode

Strong heating developed over portions of North Louisiana during the afternoon of August 14th, ahead of a weak upper level disturbance that lingered across portions of extreme Northeast Texas, Southeast Oklahoma, and Southwest Arkansas. As this weak disturbance began to weaken on the 14th-15th, upper level ridging began to amplify east across the region into the Lower Mississippi Valley, resulting in afternoon temperatures climbing into the upper 90s to near 100 degrees each day across extreme Northern Louisiana, before the heat intensified further on the 19th. When combined with the humidity, heat indices ranged from 105-110 degrees.
