A cold front passed through central North Dakota with a few thunderstorms developing along it in an area of elevated instability and modest deep layer shear. Two storms became severe. The first storm produced a track of large hail through Bottineau County with the largest hail reported to be the size of a tennis ball in Newberg, causing roof and vehicle damage. The next severe storm produced quarter size hail to the east of Coal Mine Lake in Sheridan County.
