The wider storm

Strong thunderstorms tracked into the western portion of Lake Ontario, ahead of an approaching cold front. The thunderstorms weakened as they reached the U.S. waters of Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, and the Niagara River. The storms remained just strong enough to require warnings and to produce gusty winds up to 38 knots.
