Showers and thunderstorms developed in the vicinity of a surface boundary stretching through central North Dakota. A few of these storms became severe. The strongest wind gusts were reported in Bowdon area of Wells County. Estimated 80 mph winds combined with hail up to one-inch in diameter to cause additional damage to homes and vehicles in Bowdon, which were already significantly damaged from storms that passed through earlier in the summer. In addition, some trees were uprooted and broken around town. The largest hail report was two inches in diameter, which occurred near Ellendale in Dickey County.
